Man Cave?

Man Cave? A man cave started many years ago when a farmer would spend extra time in the barn after chores,
to have a cigar or cigarette, maybe a beer, then go inside to clean up for supper. The barn was the place he could
hang his calendar on the wall, and if a friend stopped by during the day they could catch up over a pot belly wood stove
and not have to remove their boots. For the men who were not farmers, the garage was their man cave, a place where
they could tinker on the vehicles, friends could stop, world news could be discussed, tobacco could be chewed all
the while not disturbing the misses in the home.

Today’s man cave is so much more, it is a room in the home with the biggest wide screen tv, reclining chair and
large couch, flooring made to hide stains if necessary, a popcorn popper in the corner, a small refrigerator and bar
to serve up the coldest beer during the game, the race, or the latest Bond movie.
The man of the home wants his own space. The woman of the home wants a place the man can go as to not disturb
the rest of the home’s décor and flow. This man cave has come a long way. Today’s man cave is a selling feature.

I’m wondering when a woman will get her own designated room, an awesome room all her own for all of her hobbies. A place for friends to gather and share good food and good conversation. It may have a wine frig, endless chocolates, good lighting for reading, and two flat screen tv’s. Big windows that let in lots of daylight. Comfie furniture with lots of pillows and textures, and piles of all the latest magazines to be read. One wall would be covered with vision board pics, places yet to travel and see. Favorite family pictures everywhere and cozy places for the family pets to take a nap. And how about a walk in cedar closet to store all those clothes, shoes, gifts and misc items you’d rather not have anyone else find?

It doesn’t matter what this room would be called, searching yahoo and google the more popular response is lady’s lounge.
I’d simply call it “my room”.
